On board CO2

I am working on the 76 racer. It had co2 set up at one time and probably a 10lb tank. Getting this thing back to fully functional includes putting that back together, if not now later. Would be nice to have it all in for the October show. Thing is I know nothing about co2, other than prices seem to be all over the place. I do know sasser was using it to run an impact wrench and air up tires. A local place in sonora carries the powertank brand tank and regulator. Looks like a good set up and something I might like to carry out to the desert regardless which rig I take. Not cheap but running real tools as well as being able to fix a blown bead has its appeal. Powertank has a real nice aluminum powder coated tank for like 169.00. Trouble is it is 7" in diameter. The tank holder for the 76 racer is 6 7/8". Not going to fit. The local welding supply place has tanks but they want 180 for a real s****y looking steel tank. Amazon has some real dirt cheap tanks for beer kegs, but I was thinking co2 is co2. Why wouldn't those work? Or I just go with the nicer power tank and replace the old mount in the racer. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
