On-board Air Placement

Picked up a really nice compressor and tank for a screamin deal. I wanted to find out where others have mounted theirs if you have one. Pics would be great too. Thanks

Not sure if you had already mounted your compressor or tanks yet. I mounted my electric compressor on the passenger side inner fender shelf in the engine compartment.

Then I mounted my 2.5 gallon air tank underneath the bed, right under wher the rear bench seat is mounted. Probably enough room there for a larger tank if needed.

Thanks. I didn't find enough room under there so I mounted it to my cage. I finally got my mount figured out. Now I just need to pull them back off, paint, then put it back in and plumb everything.

That's cool. Look like a very similar 2 1/2 gallon tank that I have. But I have my tank mounted under the bed just beneath the rear bench seat.

How loud is that compressor?

If it's anything like mine, it May get a bit noisey being mounted inside inside the cab. Even though yours is mounted by the tailgate.

The compressor isn't too bad but we'll see how it all is now that's it's mounted to that bar. It at least won't be running constantly with the tank. I still have to wire it up and plumb my air line to the dash.
I had looked under mine to mount the tank underneath as well and decided it would be best to keep it farther away from rocks.

Mounted directly below the rear seat area under the rear floor/bed (and above the rear driveshaft) is fairly far away from any rocks. That's where I mounted my 2.5 gallon viair tank. I also mounted my electric quickair 2 compressor on the passenger side inner fender apron where the stock jack was normally located. I did need to remove the stock windshield washer fluid tank and move the evap cannister rearward for adequate mounting room. I then installed an aftermarket washer fluid tank on the firewall.

Thanks erik. Took the words right out of my typing. I just didin't have time to log since my last post. And agreed on location of air tank. Safe and out of the way and where I put mine too. The pic I posted of my compressor is on same fender well, as far forward as I could mount it on that shelf

Now up and running. From the outside you really can't hear it much over the exhaust. From the inside it isn't as loud as I thought it would be actually. I'm pretty happy with the result and just glad to have that project done finally.
