Between conferences with the professor concerning mechanicals & with tracy regarding color & body work, I accomplished a lot during my quick trip north. The biggest challenge was getting my carry on containing the main bearings & inserts past tsa inspection. Parts like this from a '35 c-1 are not on any approved list!
Tracy had paint formulated matching the original green color on the underside of the cab roof, and then sprayed it on the cowl vent for my approval. Spraying the sample on metal covered with the final primer coat gave me a true indication of the color match.
He is going to mount 3 point seat belts. A black head liner has been ordered from class tech cars. The dashboard and the metal door panels will be painted in the original black color.
I have spent the better part of 2 days searching the web for era correct running/turn signal lights & tail lights. Because they weren't required in the 30's or early 40's, suggestions or leads would be appreciated. The best repos that I've seen don't have any. But, I want to make ed a driver, so the search goes on.
We left the radiator with Mike despain of a-1 radiator service on lawrence st. In eugene to boil, (at low temp) it out & check for leaks. He will also re solder the gas tank. What a mess that turned out to be after clean up. The sending unit was held in place by 1/2 lb. Of rubber oooze.
