Oil Pan removal pickup 100

Hi, I ordered a new oilpan gasket here, cause mine is leaking a lot.
I own a pickup 100 with 345 and 727 from 1974, with the independent front suspension. Now I found out there is not enough room to get the pan out.
I wonder if it's possible to lift the engine from underneath, with a selfmade metal u-shaped device, screwed in the unused bolt holes on the front of the engine just above the oilpan? Something like on the second picture?
Or is there maybe an easier way to make room?
Thanks for the advice,
Bart.

Unbolt the engine mounts, radiator hoses and anything else that might prevent you from lifting up on the engine. Best to use an engine hoist to lift the engine up. And those jackstands you are using look quite under-rated for the amount of weight they are holding up. Maybe it's the picture, but they do not look like they are up to the task and would hate to hear you got hurt.

Hi, thanks for your concern, I shall buy stronger stands, but a hoist is not in my possession, and a bit expensive, so is my solution possible? Thanks...

If the tie rod was gone would that help? It's not a huge deal to pop that out of the way. Then you wouldn't have to jack it up as high to get it to slide past the crank/rods.

I don't think it's possible to slide the pan out to the front, because of the lower back half where the oil pickup line sits?
