NV 4500 trans?

Hello guys I'd like to order the nv4500 adapter kit but before I do I have a few questions as I need to figure out what transmission I can use.

-I have a Jeep Dana 300 to put behind the nv4500 and I don't want to buy an adapter for the transfer case. So?

-it is recommended to use the dodge gas or diesel trans. From 1995 or later, will these bolt up directly to my Jeep Dana 300?

-basically from what I have read the trans needs to have a 23 spline output shaft to work with my Jeep Dana 300 and be made in 1995 or later? Is there anything else to look for or do I just need to find one with 23 spline count?

-that being said will the GM 1995 and later nv4500 bolt up to my Jeep Dana 300 without an adapter?

-if not which other years or models gas vs. Diesel should I look for that will work with my Jeep t-case?

Thanks for your time,

I have a '92 dodge w250 with a nv4500. The it has the 6 bolt round mounting paturn and a 23 spine male ouput shaft. 360 v8 engine. Not for sale just fyi.

Is this going in a Scout? What size tires are you planning to run? I'm just thinking your 300 t case might be your weak link.

Yep its going in a Scout II with a 304. So I think I will be o.k. There with a Dana 300. I just am not sure what year transmissions to look for and what vehicles to find them in other than what I have typed above. Thanks for info!

Look for a 95' and later dodge 4x4 gas version as it will have the 23 spline output. The input bearing retainer on the Dana 300 will need to be modified but it is a very easy modification.
