very original 1968 International Scout 800 for sale: $4600
I’m the 3rd owner of this very nice Scout with less than 50k original miles on the odometer. It still had the original line setting ticket in the glovebox. 4wd, 4 spd transmission, 4 cyl 196 ci engine. All gauges and lights work, good glass, it drives great, and there is no serious rust anywhere on the truck. This truck would be an excellent candidate for a full restoration, or use it as a daily driver.
(see photos … needs paint and some bodywork, but heck, it’s a Scout.)
restoration and service completed:
New clutch, flywheel, and serviced oil in transmission and transfer case
set of 5 new tires, powder coated wheels
rebuilt brake system including new wheel cylinders, hoses, and shoes
new muffler and exhaust
rebuilt Holley carburetor
rebuilt steering gear
no-spill fuel tank fill pipes and caps
new drag link (used part)
newly upholstered front seat
pertronix electronic ignition and flame-thrower coil
set of 5 original hubcaps
new weather stripping
new cooling system hoses and reconditioned radiator
resurfaced exhaust manifold, new gasket
extra stuff available (…if I get full asking price):
set of useable original bucket seats
rear bench seat (needs to be redone).
Universal hub puller tool for rear axle and brake work
swing-out spare tire holder
complete shop manual
have rear bumper but no support brackets
grateful dead rear tire cover (of course depending on your taste, you May want to pay me to keep this.)
center console for a Scout II, (might be made to fit if you switch back to buckets)
