Just because it is antique doesn't mean it doesn't work, you are a prime example of that. :dita: in all seriousness the stuff came out of the old ship yards in astoria.

I'll trade ya my later rigid stuff even up! I covet old!!!

Old = "know's shit (but forgot it like terry!)".

If ya know the history on that kit, it's priceless!!!

Use plenty cuttin' oil on that stuff chris!!!! Sperm whale cuttin' oil is best! Obviously monte has some spermstuff layin' arount too?

Uh, yeah Mike... That's pretty obvious considering he and miranda are cooking up another bun :winky:.

I'm a moron -- I just measured out everything and go to really looking at things and unless I change out the pipe coming out of my gas meter I'm only going to run 3/4" line...

I'm sure the 2 dudes that bid the job for me would have done the work on the meter -- but I sure as hell am not.

So -- after all this farting around and making monte dig around for the 1" die --- I will only be needing the 3/4" die.

Monte and I have already made plans for me to use his equipment and we are just waiting for a rainy day for him to drive it my way.

And in all reality --- we will probably move before the water heater and the stove die - they are both electric now and we would have switched them to gas - thus requiring the larger pipe in the long run.... So screw it make the next owner deal with my lack of planning :dita:

thanks again to everyone who looked for a 1" die and triple thanks to monte for finding one and the rest of the tools!!

At least now we know who has a 1" pipe die set...and can touch it! Hail, I May need it next week!

Ya wanna know about that 1" iron pipe roll cage me anna bubba did onna sectioned vdub floor pan dune buggy? Put together with pipe benders, heat, lotsa threaded fittings and unions?? And floor flanges?? No pipe dope though, we knew we'd never take it apart! At least it was iron pipe and not pvc!

Well chris you are in luck because I have the 3/4" die. In fact it is already set up with 3/4" from my last plumping project. I plan on bringing it into town on Thursday. Unfortunately I will not be making the Thursday meeting otherwise I would just get it to you then.

Chris, the meter connection is the easy part. Heck I'll do it for only $1200 :icon_wink:
I can show you how to do it in 5 minutes.

I got the tools from monte on Friday -- and had the job finished by Saturday morning!!

I am very sorry to report I broke one of the tools in the box -- I am guessing it is the only non-original tool as it looked to be newish and made of a cheaper cast material than the rest of the stuff --- I broke it undoing the first bolt to change from the 1/2" die to the 3/4" die. Broke right off before I got the first bolt loose. But I upgraded the wrench to a craftsman one for the next guy. Sorry monte!!!

Got about 45' of pipe run -- a couple valves --and we were back in business -- the furnace fired right up when I flipped the switch. Nice!
