Mark in the same picture as a chebby is just wrong

I'm not a bowtie fan either, but I am a Mark martin fan. Think of it as a Ford in disguise. he's in some good company with sterling & Joe & he seems to be doing what he wants to do & is happy ... I imagine the $$$ is quite good too. :winky: I've 'heard' ~ $13 million or $500,000 per race. Not a bad days earnings ... No matter where he finishes.

Least he didn't pull a dj or a mikey. Gonna be funny when mikey can't qualify & dj & blaney are the only toys on the track.

robby gordon running fords might make up for losing Mark ... I can hope anyway.

Gonna be an interesting season > budweiser shootout this Saturday: 8pm eastern on fox.

Are the duels tomorrow or next week?

Either way I will be unavailable during race time.

They're on the 15th. Have to put my money on biffle. He's a former season champion at our local track, and I am a Ford guy:gringrin: sorta keep an eye on the 9 car, too. I have a cousin who builds the engines.

1st story about it: racingone

nascar hammers waltrip

on Wednesday nascar handed out numerous penalties to the team that included ejections, hefty fines, and a loss of 100 driver and car owner championship points.

Nascar has confiscated waltrip's primary car, as a result of rule violations found during pre- and post-qualifying inspection for the daytona 500. The actions taken by nascar resulted from violations of 12- 4-a (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-q (car, car parts components and/or equipment not conforming to nascar rules) and 20-15.2c (gasoline must not be blended with alcohols, ethers or other oxygenates).

Crew chief larry (david) hyder and the team’s vice president of competition bobby kennedy have been ejected from this week’s events at daytona International speedway and suspended indefinitely.

Hyder also has been fined $100,000.

Sounds like nascar is playing hardball this year.

gonna make for an interesting season with these teams already 100, 50 & 25pts in the hole.

J. Gordon wins 'duel' (stewart won the other), starts 42nd in daytona 500 due to a misaligned shock bolt found in post-race inspection. :dita: gordon: "that sucks". :cryin:

team red bull (toy) won't have a car in the race: Brian vickers & a. J. Allmendinger wrecked out. :ciappa:

jeremy (is that 100 octane?) mayfield will be washing his toy on Sunday as he didn't make the race. Mike skinner will be washing his camry on Sunday too.

dale jarrett had to use his 'past champ' provisional to get his toy in the race & that shut bill elliot out of the picture to use his pc provisional. :icon_4laugh:

4 out of 8 toys will be sitting the race out. Mikey made the race tho' in 15th (highest toy placement) and so did dave blaney (37th) and david reutimann (40th) w/jarrett starting 43rd (dead last). Not looking good for toy already.:icon_lol:

70yr old james hylund didn't make the race in his chebbie either and neither did ward burton. :(

boris said (23rd) & robby gordon (39th) both got their fords in the race and Robert yates fords (david gillilands m&m's & ricky rudds snickers cars) start 1st & 2nd tomorrow. Quite a change to see Ford sweep the pole + 2nd in a restricter plate race qualifying session. :winky: rudd topped 190mph in practice too.
