Well, the time has come to find a vehicle that we can't outgrow. Happened across this the other day. So I traded in my old diesel mercedes for it. :grin grin:

1972 1110 I believe it's a 392, has a 727 trans, and seems to have been cared for by the po. It has some rust issues in the back, but I don't think that it's enough to get all hot and bothered about. Drives like a dream!

All new drivelines by six states distributors, new full dual exhaust, possibly new rancho shocks, new 31x10.50 tires, and possibly other hidden things.

I love the look of my new driveway.

Yeah, she's awesome! When she first saw it, she asked if I could keep it parked behind the fence when we weren't using it. After a 10 minute ride in it, she was willing to drive it daily as soon as I put GM TBI on (for increased fuel milage), and a/c. She drove it a couple of days later for the first time and was all grins. Yesterday, when a bunch of our friends and family were here, she was taking people for rides in "her truck". Lol! She's even decided that the orange color isn't so bad. Which is good, since it would be pretty tough to repaint it any other color and make it look right. It's got some quirks to work out, but nothing major that I can see at this point.

I May have to try my Holley distributor with the pertronix in it, because it's running great one minute and then a bit off the next. Sometimes it starts fine, and other times it takes a few seconds, and sometimes a touch of the gas. It's also started randomly showing me the brake warning light. I'm wondering if the booster is going bad and causing both problems. When it's running right, it's so smooth that I wonder if the engine hasn't been gone through and was balanced. Not a hint of shake in it. The po claimed to the car lot that he had over $8k in it before he traded it, but the engine and transmission don't appear to be touched. I'll have to look a little closer.

I got plates on it today and the lady told me it's an original idaho truck, which explains the lack of rust. I wish I could track down the original owner, or at least the last one, and get some more info. And to let him know it's in a loving home.
