Yep, the guy beat us twice, both times by about a 1/2 inch. He had a solid plate on the bottem of his valve cover so I couldn't see what was inside.
clyde's valve cover was a very close third place.

Valve cover racing on the 4th of July in downtown willamina. Technical inspection and weigh in starts at 9:00 am, racing starts at 10:00.

Bearing secret 3.0!
My son used to do speed skating. I see the tires you are using are from roller blades. Look into speed skating tires and especailly bearings! There are way better than stock bearings available but it has been about 8 years since he competed. His skates were carbon fiber and custom made to his feet each year at cost of $800. To $1200.
Tires available have differant compounds for differant skating rinks and outside surfaces. Bearings were rated as abec and the higher the number the better the bearing. Once we installed his race bearings and tires you could give a wheel a spin and it would keep spinning for an incredible amount of time. When he was practicing/working out we would use a abec 1 which would only spin about 15 seconds. Couple practices before a competition we would switch him over to the race bearings that were I beleive abec 5, the ones that keep spinning for so long the kids would loose intrest, I forget how long. You would adjust the axle tighness after each race to insure all wheels spinning were equal. Tire sizes were also avalable to if I remeber right 80mm.
So if your looking at going faster look into speed skating wheels and bearings hth!

I think monte is doing just fine on the quality of his bearings. He has them custom made for this exact application by some high profile, precision bearing engineer. I don't know what kind of deal he's got going, but I don't see any bearing tech stickers on that thing...

Maybe I should put a bearing tech sticker on it.

Never heard of this abec stuff...

It's ok terry, bearing tech went first and second in both the junior and adult classes. I think whatever special formula you use on those bearings are working.
