My introduction

Good morning all,

david link here, I have met some of you on parts excusions or random discussions, but I figure I'd make myself publicly known.
I'm working on my second Scout now. 1971 Scout II - bought from a local fellow in alameda. Needed the standard tons of love - which it is getting. I used to own a 1974, but foolishly fixed it up nice and sold it during a dry spell.

I am in need of a power steering bracket without the smog pump.
The simpler 2 bolt design is what I'm after. I had one in the moss landing picknpull yesterday, but it snapped.

I have some parts in my shop - inner fenders, a beat pair of front fenders - a late brown door. Holley 2100 carb.

If anyone's in need let me know.

I included a photo of my Scout in current paint preperation state.

Thanks,

Hey david,

I'm in alameda and have a friend jim around the corner, both with orange scouts. East end.

I'm happy to offer any Scout help I can (or learn whatever I can from you).

I look forward to seeing your truck, jack

Hey david

good to meet up with ya a couple weeks ago. We will hook up again sometime. Glad to see a shot of your pumpkin, lol. By my count, there is currently 3 scouts in alameda painted the same color? Sure it aint the same one?:ciappa:

I was kinda thinking of ya the other day. Wasn't until after the fact, but I just recently placed an order for some 1.75" x .120 dom tubing for cage work. After I placed my order and received 5 sticks is when I remembered about ya inquiring about it. I'm about to re-design the cage in my 73 beast.

Hey scooter,

the cage plans suffered significant scope creep. I think the plan is formed but it got in line behind some engine work and now an engine transplant.

I'm eager to hear your plans. Will you be at hollister Monday?

Jack

I found a bracket from a fella in pa. Thanks for your searches everyone.

Met jack this weekend and scooter a few weeks back - great guys.
Nice to be back in the Scout business.

David

Thanks for the kind words. If ya need help, let me know. Things are starting to slow down for me with in the next couple weeks to where I can actually get back to working on my own scouts. And I will be getting back to updating my build thread of my 73 beast and the roll cage re-vamp. Gotta fix the piss poor design of the cage that came installed in the beast when I got it. I recently was able to get some ideas for the cage from one 74 Scout that rolled through my man cave that I worked on a couple months ago.

Cheers
