Move Update & Phone Problems

Thought we would update everyone on the move with good news and bad. The good news is we have managed to get the warehouse moved and most of our inventory put away. All the shop equipment has been moved to the new shop and is getting set up. The office including computers get moved tomorrow.

The bad news is our phone lines will be down until probably Tuesday. To say that we are a little angry at at&t would be a huge under understatement as we are more than furious. I spent no less than 5 hours on the phone with them today speaking with their representatives from all over the world trying to get our sales lined transferred as scheduled. Instead we got our phone line canceled with my private cel phone as the number to now be called. After getting my cel phone number removed they replaced it with a new number that isn't hooked up yet at the new location(hence why no one can get thru to us). We hope by tomorrow that we can at least get this new line at least going to an answering machine if not by Monday. Again we hope to have our sale number 530-268-0864 back in order by Tuesday. The best number to reach us at is 530-274-1795.

Thank you for your patience while we get our move sorted out and for being a loyal IHPA customer.

At&t has successfully shut our phone service down so that no one can contact us. We are working with them to resolve this issue but we have found the level of incompetence so high we doubt we May have a phone for a few days. Fortunately we do have backup. A comcast line that we have works here so those trying to contact us for now can get thru at 530-205-9057. Please spread the word as there are many out there who cannot get in touch with us and this is deeply affecting our business.

Sorry to hear about the troubles with the att. If I'm not mistaken, this is the second time in the last 5 yrs that they have dropped the ball on ya. Shame on them. Just an example of why I don't use their service for anything. But, in a lot of areas, they seem to be the only one to provide any type of phone service.

Any chance of dropping att all together? And switching to a different company?

In the mean time I will spread the word. I'm currently working with one kid who maybe placing another order soon.
Cheers and good luck

Yup it is the second time at&t has done this. It's like deja-vu all over again. I tried relocating all our phone service to comcast, however this past Monday after going back and forth with them for two weeks they figured out for whatever reason they could not remote call forward my existing lines. So back to at&t I went who said no problem. Last Tuesday I called back to confirm my order so that no screw ups would happen. Then Friday came around when they notified they too could not move my existing lines to the new place due to it being switched in another location. Never thought I would have so much trouble getting my lines transferred especially seeing that we are only moving less than eight miles from the old location.

Jeff, perhaps it's time to ditch at&t and get a combined service with voip and internet service. They can instantly move your number and once things are connected you can make and receive phone calls on your existing number from anywhere you have an internet connection. An ip pbx is a completely digital system for business that can grow to 1000's of incoming phone lines and extensions.

Isn't it time that when someone calls ihparts, you're prompted to press 1 for english? All those types of things can be programmed into an ip pbx. Cisco makes a top notch one and switchvox makes a nice open source one.

I was originally going to go with a voip system but I forget what changed my mind. I really do want to get rid of at&t but I'm still not sure why comcast couldn't perform a remote call forward using a third party provider on our sales line. Either way supposedly I am set up to get things back in order this Thursday but am still waiting a confirmation number and any way to get the process expedited.

Finally our phone lines are all up and running. Thank you to those who were patient enough and waited to get thru during this past week. After getting the right person to talk to at at&t we finally got what we wanted in the the beginning which was our original sales number of 530-268-0864 transferred to our new location. So things are slowly getting back to normal and we are now easily reached as before.
