Mechanical Fuel Pump

Hey all,
my truck is tucked away for the winter.
I have a 33 gallon tank, sump style fuel filter, stainless ball valve then my mechanical fuel pump on the engine.
Do you think I will do any damage to the pump if I shut off the
ball valve and turn the engine over?
The pump has about 3k miles on it.
I'd like to turn the truck over every few weeks to keep my bearings lubed and not dump fuel into the cylinders.
I'm paranoid about dry-starting the engine as I have had cam/cam bearing issues in a previous motor. The truck will be away 'til at least April if not May.
Thanks.

No drawing on a closed valve won't hurt the pump. I also don't think you should have to worry about turning it over during winter. You're better off just priming the fuel system next spring and firing it with as little cranking as possible.
Seems to me that a motorized oil priming pump would be a perfect solution. I know you can buy a kit for that operation.

Thanks Robert,
do you mean removing the distributor and driving the oil pump or a permanently installed something?
