Loose Brake/Clutch pedal assembly

Hello,
I just recently bought a 51 IH R110 pick up and the brake and clutch pedal assemblies are quite loose. It would appear there is a bushing assembly that is fixed to a fixed rod, shared by the clutch pedal, and then runs to the master cylinder. The previous owner has placed some washers next to the bushing assembly and attempted to secure with a clevis pin. There is a lot of play in the joint. I am wondering if the attached part would be a suitable replacement. It appears to be similar. Anyone have any experience with this make/model and the brake pedal assembly?

I don't know about the 50s trucks but I'll tell you my experience with things like that on mid 60s trucks:

Your best bet will be to remove the PO bush fixery and determine how it was originally. If you get a service manual it may help you figure the original setup out, another place to look for info/pictures/non-bodge job fixes on the older trucks would be binder planet. As far as where to find the original parts, they are where you find them, leave no stone unturned. I've had good luck with ebay, IHPA used parts and a dude in idaho(google autofarmusa for him)Pictures of your situation may also help other 50s truck owners figure it out with you.

Thanks Gunfighter 97, I will follow those leads. I live in nebraska and there are a few old 50's IH's in barns, but not a lot of serious restorers and collectors. My son lives in Idaho so maybe he can check that contact out.

All the best,
Wayne

His prices were very reasonable, you can look on the website, I believe he had two or three 50s variants laying around. He does ship parts as well but will charge additional $ for time pulling parts and shipping. To be honest I think you might be hard pressed to find any true IH restorers (I'm talking 100% stock) they seem few and far between. Most people I've talked to so far seem like even with new paint they get used almost harder than modern vehicles lol. You can always modify generic parts, but IMO better to try and find a drop in replacement first. Again pictures will be your best friend for that. Good luck and happy New Year! :D
