Looking for an IH tow rig

I put a sign in my dodge today. Having a new rig is really sweet and stuff but I'm tired of the payment and not getting anything back. If I'm gonna dump several hundred dollars a month into something, kind of would like to have something to show for it.

Looking for a 'c' series travelette of travellal. Maybe an 'a' or 'b' series but it has to be in pretty decent shape. I would like to pull a gooseneck someday so a truck would be better obviously. But, I can bumper pull my junk for a few more years.

Like all IH guys, money is tight now until the truck sells, which could be a while. I would be willing to trade some serious labor or work.
My plan is to run it as is for a few months, so it needs to be a runner/driver, then gather up the ctd/6spd, 60f, 14bolt rear. Really focus on making it nice and comfortable.

Please keep the cxt/mxt pics to a minimum. Not sure I could or would want one. Or a 4700 for that matter.

It would be nice if it was close to oregon but I would do some traveling if the deal was right.

Thanks!

I can see it now...

12v ctd +/-400hp & 800lb/ft torque (96-98 would be my choice)
nv5600 (from a 01-03? Dodge)
NP205 (the mythical round pattern dodge case)

Chevy d60 front
Chevy 14 bolt rear with discs of course

1410 joints all around

I'd put you at about a 24,000 pound max gcvw.

Mmm.... Beefy!!!

Chris, you complete me.

Your dead on except I would keep the divorced 205 and run a 2wd trans to help keep the costs down some. Your a touch light on the hp numbers too

Damn dan, you're a little late. There was a really nice looking 2wd c-series t-ette down here in the bay area for somewhere in the 1200 range. I looked for it today but alas it appears to be gone. It would have made a nice platform. I will keep my eyes out for it again if you'd like.

Keep an eye out for me as well. The one that I thought I was getting fell thru. Thats the second time in the past three weeks a douche-bag came to me wanting to give me or sell me a rig and then never heard back.:mad5:

Tha senior member of the roth clan can birddawg hail outta stretch peekups! Jes' tell ihgramps to start draggin' 'em home and it'll happen! I need sum more excitement now that we're set up to recover dead stretchees anytime, anywhere.

Just last night I was informed onna disposal sale regarding many duramax/allison powertrains being pulled out of a major fleet of new vocational body GM trucks. Miles accumulated on each are "delivery" miles...around 100>150.

The bird what told me sez Jeff heard tha story??

Stand by for more info as it develops...

I'm afraid of getting anything from old man roth. It might start out whole but who knows by the end of the trip!

As for the d-max stuff, forget it. I would rather run the IH stuff until my cummins is found. I don't wanna deal with any of that computer timed injection bs in a rig like I wanna build. 95 cummins is the ideal one for me, from what I have heard.

NP205 (the mythical round pattern dodge case)

 you make it sound like it's in the same category as chupacabras, unicorns and nessy!?????
This one is from behind a "getrag" 5spd, but I've also seen them behind 727's!

They exist and can be had --- just try and find one when you really need one... They are way, way, way less common that any of the other jillion 205's offered.

that's perfect but. If I know dan and unfortunately I do....:dita: it's $4000 over his budget....:dita:

I know I said I didnt want one but I think I have a line on a medium duty 4700 and wedge trailer. Cheap! Its only got a dt360 though. Nothings gonna happen until I sell the dodge though.
