Looking for a IH V-8 motor

I have a 1971 800B with a big gapping hole in it.:icon_cry: I need a motor asap. Looking for a v-8 IH motor. I live in roseville California and I can drive to pick up or whatever. Not too fancy about shipping. Please help. Thanks everyone. :yesnod:
 
I have a 345 here that ran but needs freeze plugs. 2bbl manifold, has new valve cover and intake gaskets. Carb needs rebuilt, leaks gas. $200 I am just about an hour south of you in lockeford.
 
Sweet. You have any pics of it? If it looks good I'll buy it. What tranny was behind it? And do you have the bellhousing?

I have the dist cap for it but used the wires on my other engine. I was going to run this but the freeze plugs need replaced, and it was easier the swap motors then plugs. They will be easy to replace with the motor out.
 
Looks decent I guess. What all would need to be done to it before it ran? My truck is a manual also. What did it come out of and the year of the motor if you know it?

It came out of a scoutii, year=someware between 75 and 79. It had an automatic. It needs all the freeze plugs, cap and rotor and normal tune up stuff.
I was over helping reuben work on his junk today:ihih:, is why I know.
For $200.00 it's a good deal, but ya you'll have to do some work on it.
 
You know it ran before you pulled it? What would I have to do to get it converted to manual? Just change the fly wheel?
 
Yes and yes, I only pulled it because it needs the freeze plugs replaced and my spare motor did not.
 
Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. I am intrested but something came up and I'm a little short on money. I guess go ahead and sell it to someone else. If you still have it in a few weeks I'll hit you up on it. Thanks and sorry for wasting your time.
 
I have a running motor still n my truck that I am going to swap for ls2 call me I like to talk n person or on the phone about it.
 
Chico I got some price quotes give me a call if ur interested Mike 707-459-1892 I think the motors coming out to like $350 but the gasket set is $150 thats what I paid for it. Plus I just did full tune up for $50 and new pertronix ignitions was $107. I do have the receipts if that helps. New starter, new alt, new power steering lines and pump. I need $ 500 and still thats giving the motor away for almost free. If u add up the other new parts.
