leaf spring flex??

Ok so today was the maiden voyage of my scoutii ive been building for the past year or so. Give u the rundown real quick. 76 scoutii 345/727/twin sticked d300. SUA will 4" lift springs and extended shackles. 410 gears in Dana 44's. Front is a posi and the rear is a detroit. My lift kit is the Rough Country brand bought here at IHOnly. What do u guys think of these springs? I noticed they were kinda stiff. Will they loosen up over time? I expected my rear to flex a little better but that was not the case. Any input would be appreciated.

If they are new, they will loosen up after a couple good runs. But they are lift springs (I.e. Higher arch, usually higher spring rate), they are inherently stiffer than stock springs so unless you custom build a pack flex will always be potentialy limited.

On the plus side, stiffer springs keep the tires out for the body :d

make sure your spring hanger bolts aren't too tight. And remove (if you still have it) the front sway-bar thing. Then just enjoy your truck and learn its limitations. Fyi, they will flex more after warming up as well. So toward the end of a good wheeling day they will be softer than that morning.

Thanks Mark. Im gonna romp around on them for the rest of the year and probably the early part of next year. Hopefully they will loosen up. Ill post a pic of my Scout shortly. Thx again.
