Just buy a new frame

So I am looking at all these builds online and it makes me want to do some upgrading to my frame adding strength to the leaf spring mounts adding mounts for rock sliders and corner guards rust removal and powder coat. But I dont want to rip the whole frame out from under my Scout and have pieces all over so I have been thinking about just buying another frame and doing all the work then swapping stuff over? Has anyone else done this? If so would you do it again was it easier then just using the frame you had?

Yes and no.

If you have the space and room, its a great idea. You can turn it over, on end whatever. And then give it a nice coat of paint.

Bad-side, when your ready to swap it now you got to move everything over to the new frame. Not a big deal depending on what your Scout is like and how much oem parts and sheetmetal you have, but something to consider. The body swap it self isn't too bad, depending on what equipment/space or extra bodies you have available. 3-4 decent people can pick up and set a bare tub pretty easily. The more stuff still bolted to it, the heavier it gets.

I did it when I did my last trail beater. Started with a bare frame so I could grind/cut and weld to it..... Course now its bent so I get to do it all again :d
