Just bought First Scout!

Scout ii mini resto.

Thanks eric!

Iv been busting my hump on this little rig. Got the front carpet in and trim installed. Interior takes forever.

Got the evaporator back in. A 2nd person is a must when getting the 4 mount bolts back in and the drain lines hooked up thru the new dynomat and carpet. What a nightmare. But its in and clean now. Roll bar re installed too.

Have glove box, rear shackles and a bikini top on the way.

Ok so here is the update.

I got the dash pad back from the interior shop and all the seats are back from the other interior shop.

Shot the seat brackets with bed liner and installed everything yesterday. It got all dirty as I couldnt resist a little 4 wheelin with my brothers last night at my folks ranch.

After a little light wheeling a few exhaust leaks popped up so its off to the muffler shop I go this morning. At the same time the motor started not wanting to idle smoothly and kinda surges when going down the road sometimes.

Have no idea why. Im gonna get all the leaks fixed, replace the fuel filter and go from there.

Here is how it turned out. I still have yet to make some trim pieces for the back where the carpet comes up to the convertible area on the sides and just kinda ends and looks tacky. Those front seats are from a dodge caravan. They are real nice now that the upholstery is new. Nice little arm rests.

Looks nice but your seats are in backwards. Seat back release lever should be on the outside. Great work though.

The seats are in the way they were before. If I were to switch them the arm rests would be on he wrong side. The are actually out of a dodge caravan originally. Ye leavers are a little bit tough to reach but oh well. I also installed some 14v cigar lighter plugs in place of the ash tray in the console to run my girlsfriends ice chest and heated blanket. There is also a light bulb and a cigar plug mounted in the console.

I bought a little of the real dynomat and a lot of the same kinda stuff from a company called b quiet in canada. I reccomend b quiet over dynamat. Its way cheaper and just a little thicker. It comes on a roll. You cut off a piece peel and stick. I diddnt have any left over.

Turned out the motor was grossly out of time. I reset the timing set the idle speed and adjusted idle mixture and she seems to be running ok.

She also got 2 new mufflers and pipes from the mufflers back. For those of you in the bay area. You cant do better than babes lightning mufflers on the alamedea in san jose/ santa clara. Its a good size place with one guy running the show. He has got to be the only honest guy that does excellent work left around here.

+1 on the babe's recommendation. I've gone to the one in campbell a couple times, one guy doing good work at a fair price.
