Here is a 1968 pickup that I have been working over for the past couple years. I am posting pictures here so they can be viewed over the net.

I bought a new dash pad from "justdashs.com" and installed it, looks great but was very spendy. Took a week of searching to get a new rubber floor mat, jc whitney was the only place I could find one.

You can see the original oil bath air cleaner, and very clean engine. This truck runs and drives like a new 68, but it only has 78,000 miles.

One of the cool things to me is the fuel filler is not in the fender, takes fuel at full fill pressure. Still has the factory step bumper also.

So when I bought this truck it was a 2wd, I converted it to 3/4 4wd. I rebuilt a set of 73 axles from my travelette, because it had gotten Chevy tons. I also had a new exhaust installed after the switch. It is very easy to convert one of these. I used a 205 t-case from a 70s harvester, rebuilt a spud shaft, and had the rear drive shaft made and balanced, also had to grab a front shaft, had it balanced also. Here in montana 4wd is used a lot so I have found it very nessary to balance and new joints because of the highway speeds any viberation is really felt. This one is good to 60mph thats about all the truck wants with the 4:11 gears.

I can also tell you I drive a lifted travelette most of the time and it looks good but I get more folks looking at this truck maybe because it looks so stock and fresh of the farm from 68. It had one stone chip on the windshield so I had it fixed as soon as I saw it, bet the windshield would cost near as much as the truck.

When I got the truck it had scout2 mirrors on the doors, I think a dealer installed them. The fellow I bought it from was 90 years old and very particular about the truck. I found a set of mirrors for the doors (gold) and replaced the scout2 mirrors. Passenger is a little pitted so I will keep an eye out for a better one.

As I said earlier this was a 2wd truck when I got it, I think that is why it was in such good condition. Well a few days in the shop and we now have a 3/4 ton 4x4.
