I was tinkering with my 73 today and noticed the positive terminal on the battery was a little loose. I pulled it off and the engine died. I was always taught that that indicated a dead alternator. However when I put the terminal back on and started the engine, I get movement toward charge on the gauge. I also put a test light on the alternator post and got a light. Is the Scout system different in some way? It's a bone stock and all original 345.
