My name is Peter and I live in So Cal. Have a coin laundry in Pacoima, a bike store in Los Angeles, do auctions and estate sales with Hughesauctions.com in Sunland, live in Newhall and have a log cabin in Lake Hughes.
I have a lot of cars - 2 FJ40s, a Citreon HY pickup, a Porsche 356 project, two Mk I GTIs, 1.5 bay window buses (own one with a friend), a BMW 2002, a diesel squarebody Jimmy and some other stuff I am forgetting. Too many cars, too many projects but it didn’t stop me from buying this International 1200.
64k miles, sitting since 1984, buried under a tree that nearly totaled it when it fell.
I chainsawed branches off until I was able to roll the dead tree trunk away from the truck. It just kissed the fender! No real damage.
Someone made an attempt to get it going in 2002 based on the date code on the battery. Air filter and marvel mystery oil on front bench. Every wheel has 2 lug nuts - I suspect they took the wheels off to fill the tires elsewhere. The throttle and choke were disconnected and the fuel line barb was missing out of the side of the carb. I pulled the carb and dropped off at my carb rebuilder.
I don’t have the truck yet - I was only able to air up three tires so I need to jack it up and see if I can get the spare on there.
Based on the photo and vin tag, can anyone tell me what engine I have?
Excited about this. Camper leaked but is probably salvageable.
Thanks everyone!
