IH pickup wanted 1965-69

Folks, so excited to see this site as I did not know this existed until falling into it from a link on an auction site! Anyway, I am new to the site and hopefully I am posting this in the correct area but let me know if not please. I am looking for a late 60's IH pickup with 8 foot regular bedside preferably club cab and preferably 4wd but interested in any. Hoping to find a western truck with little rust. I have a 68 camper mobile that has some pretty bad rust on typical IH rusting areas. I am not having much luck with salvage yards or any searching so far. Can you all shed some light? Planning a trip out west in spring to look for parts or truck as I am on east coast. Thanks for any and all help!
 
Welcome to the site. In the IH world a club cab truck is called a Travelette. I haven't seen many C series Travelette's, but they are around. I've got a '71 D series Travelette.
 
Thanks for the information. .Let me know if you have any salvage yard leads or any leads at all. Im highly motivated as I want to get started on a restoration project this coming spring/summer.
 
Oh and when you say they are around, where would I look? I would be interested in travelette or standard cab C series which I assume is 4wd only?
 
First contact the folks at IH Parts America. They do have some trucks for sale and know about others not listed.

Since it sounds like you're willing to travel, check craigs list on the west coast. You probably won't see anything for a while, then a bunch of candidates will pop up. Asking the folks around here to keep an eye peeled for C series stuff might turn up some interesting candidates. Finally the 406 Garage on Youtube has a bunch of older IH trucks for sale.

Captain John, Thanks for reaching out! I never saw any "underneath pics" but may have missed. How does your truck look under the outer cover? I was just in your neck of the woods last summer . Charleston is a nice area! Let me know where to find the pics and I can plan a day to drive out to see your pickup. Thanks John.
