ignition rod in steering column

I have a 78 Scout II with the 345. When I bought my Scout the rod was broken so I hace to push and pull it manually. Im getting tired of doing this. But I cant seem to find a replacement. What is this piece called and can someone point me in the right direction
 
So I have access to a parts Scout that I can get some parts out of. I'm now in the process of removing the broken. I have the steering wheel off the lock plate off. The turn signal guts out of the way. Now my problem is trying to get the ignition gears and the broken out so I can replace it. Any help with this

try looking at the fsm.
