Ignition replacement

I am attempting to replace my Ignition switch, not the electrical part. Just the part where you put the key in. I read the bible (iH manual) and watched the videos on youtube. Followed all prescribed methods and nothing worked. In fact, the key switch broke off. Maybe you could call it the key shroud. Question is, how do I get it out of here?

You pull the steering wheel, and lock plate. Drill a hole in the right spot, push on the button to release it.

I wasn't that's how you're supposed to technically replace the ign tumbler.

Well...... Yeah...

There is a slot that is under the steering wheel lock plate that is slightly cast over from the factory that you break with a pick and push in the tab to release the tumbler assembly.
