How to tighten bull gear nut?

Greetings,
I'm trying to torque down the bull gear nut on my T18 transmission. I've tried placing the tranny in every gear in an attempt to tighten the nut, but it spins and I can't torque it down. I don't want to pry anything against the gear teeth in fear of chipping or breaking the bull gear. Any suggestions on how to tighten this nut to it's required torque of 175 ft lbs? This is on a 74 Scout with 345, T18 and Dana 20.

I took the top off and put it in any forward gear and reverse at the same time by moving the sliders around. Still need somebody big to hold onto the transmission while you torque it with a big ass torque wrench.

On mine I put the transmission in 1st gear. If I still had creep because the clutch was slipping I put a breaker bar on the engine's front damper/pulley crank bolt. Then let the bar go against the frame for a back stop. There's enough resistance through the transmission and engine it won't over torque the crank bolt.
