From what I have read (www) normal operating temperature range is 170-180 for an auto tranny
I talked with a transmission shop and they said up to 215 is normal on a hot day. I noticed my was running in the 200-220 most of the day. [very hot outside]
I have the "up to 24,000 lbs" B&M tranny cooler. 11"x6"x1 1/2" mounted in front of the radiator. I'm in the process of adding a second tranny cooler now.

The second cooler (B&M hi-tek with fan 7 1/2 x 10) will be mounted behind the head light on the passenger side.

Here is what chads looks like.

I got the holes drilled for mounting and welded nuts on the back side to make the mounting nice and strong and easy to remove if/when needed.

Got the cooler hole cut out and cooler mounted. Need to connect the tranny lines and electrical wires.
Used some foam tape to seal the edge of the cooler.
