A picture such as you have posted really means nothing to us! We have no idea where those wires lead to!
A wiring diagram will be posted once I get back to the shophouse and get all the forum information caught up. However, there is no electrical system any simpler than a basic breaker point system that uses both a "start" feed and a "run" feed (which incorporates a ballast resistor or a section of resistance wire).
The way this vehicle was treated in the past should be put to rest. An entire wiring system should be installed which provides all basic functions and will add a few dedicated circuits for additional components. The design of the oem electrical system was not a problem...however, the materials used, and the methodology (or lack thereof) was and is an issue that must be corrected for future, reliable use.
There are many books available that contain individualized diagrams, theories, practicals, etc. That May be used to set up your own system. Even the basic instruction sets that come with pre-terminated wiring harnesses for generic vehicle projects contain this information.
