Yeah, it was a good time. We had a good turnout – bigger than anticipated. Probably had a dozen trucks to show up. The weather was good – sunny for the most part. We pretty much had the 4x4 area to ourselves. Doc brought his service truck and tinkered with a few trucks that did not go on trail rides.

Had a great time with the exception of rear fenderwell clearance and a Dana 20 that would'nt stay in low, more things to work on. Thanks for lunch and all the help from everyone extracting the Scout from the jungle after mechanical problems. Appreciate the picture of the Scout all crossed up and stuck on it's own body, when I get the pictures from my partner I'll try to post the ones of bonzai'ing the logs. Hope everyone has a good Christmas and up for another run whenever, thanks.

Hi all,

it was good to see everyone at hollister. Too bad I couldn't hang around long and do any wheeling. The rangers at the lower ranch told me that I couldn't take my dirtbikes onto the upper ranch and that if I wanted to go play with the Scout with you guys, I would have to drop my trailer and leave it at the lower ranch.
I wasn't comfortable leaving a couple of vintage bikes unattended for long so I bolted right after the chili dogs (thanks for cooking cary). All in all it was a good day of riding and wheeling and eating and socializing. See you next time!

Marty
p.s. My appologies to Joe for not stopping when you ran out of gas on the freeway. I was concentrating on an eratic driver coming up on me fast from behind. When I did notice you as I was passing I wasn't sure if I saw a Scout or not. My passenger said "... Naw, it's a Bronco". Glad you had a spare can with you.

Thanks guys stacy & I had a great time at hollister. I really appreciate you guys in the b.a.b.s. Bunch. (what do you think?,kinda like the wild bunch) for making a couple of newbees feel so welcome.you have ben a great help with tec advice & trail tips. I would especially like to thank carry for kind taking stacy under his wing & showing him the ropes.then there's doc who took time out to show us how to properly set a carb,& Craig who always had a kind word & the only one who remembered to bring cooking utensils.dave & dave were a big help with tec too, plus little/bigger dave & I were able to hang out & talk about our not Scout 4 wheel drives we own. Marty no problem it was my own fault for thinking we would make it from castrovalley to hollister on what I thought was a 3/4 tank of gass, our fuel gauge never has worked(is that standard?) again I would just like to thank the whole crew, silver Scout, bill, keith, marty,Craig, doc, dave, cary,& any one I missed.you guys were great to hang out with,& we hope you all will count us as one of your groop. We are looking forward to a other run soon.thanks Joe

Well I think I found why my steering was so poor and had to cut my day at hollister short.

I'm in the process of fixing this and possibly rebuilding my steering box. Anyone up for another hollister run mid to late January?

I stumbled upon your little gathering. It was great to see so many scouts (in my experience).

And thanks to doc for working on my hubs.
