Only 3 weeks to go. All I've got left to do is some cage work, rear fender work and replace some front bushings. My junk will be ready for the tank trap. I'll be camped in area 5.

I'm planing on going, but running it to some work issue on that weekend.

as for the Scout, it's driveable. Few things need fix'in, mainly get my air pump for the locker working as it's non op.

Trailering it would be nice, as I would not have to worry about making home.

Need a 38 x 16.5 tire too. I slashed a tire and been running on my spare.

Mike how wide is your trailer? I can't remember is the deck over the wheels or are there fenders? I'm thinking of buying an 8ft wide trailer but the deck is over the wheels, thinking that the load might sit too high. Any thoughts about that? My Scout is 90" wide so I'm not finding a lot of trailers wide enough. I guess I could always swap out the front tires while it's on the trailer.

drive over the fenders, and to get back on topic, I will be there scoutless again this year :(

Come on reuben this is semi on topic since I plan to use the trailer to get the Scout down to hollister. I've tried driving over the fenders before with the trailer I normally use, but I can't get the weight distribution right.

I did have fenders, but I cut them off. As reuben said, "drive over the fenders". Make some wood blocks as tall as the fenders to drive over. As far as weight distribution, what's the problem? Too much weight forward or not enough?

I have a dump trailer but it's to small to hold the Scout, so I took the dump bed off this weekend. With the dump box off, I needed to extend the frame a couple feet. I'm plating each side of the frame with 1/4" plate, to bolt on the frame extension. I drilled all day long:incazzato: and the plates are now attached to the existing frame. I need to cut the 2x6 tubing for extension and weld that together. I too will also need to drive over the tires, but will use wood blocks attached to the deck to make that easier. Getting the load set right will be trial and error. I'm figuring to park it 50/50 over the axles and since the Scout weighs more up front it should be about a 60/40 split. Hopefully my pickup is up to the task of pulling it over those grades.

I have driven over the fenders, the problem is getting the weight distribution right. Once the front tires are over the fenders and on the deck, the rear tires are touching the rear of the fenders, so I don't have any room to go forward or back.

Here’s what I did when I had my 80. A support plate was welded the length of the left fender. When loading or offloading the left tire would climb the support & the right tire would remain on the trailer. I put 2x10’s on each side of the trailer- the length of the tire travel - butted up against the outside rail so the tires wouldn’t pinch nor sit on the rail during travel.

Thanks for the feedback on the trailer. I will load it and see how it drives.

The more important question is will there be lockeford sausage on the bbq:mad5:?

I'm still trying to get that weekend off. I've asked everyone and it seems everyone is going somewhere or having relatives coming to town. The last person I can get to work for me has been out on jury duty and won't know there schedule until they get back. I got the Friday off, but still scheduled to work that Saturday.
