1979, Scout 2, 345, 2bl Holley 7940. Runs well during first start up, auto choke closed. Warms up, idle gets a bit rough. If I open the choke manually fully after say 3 to 5 minutes it stalls out. Seems to be flooded. Will not start for quite a few minutes... acting like flooded. If I drive it for a few minutes then turn it off, will not restart, acting flooded. New plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and coil as part of finding this issue. Rotor was quite bad but was working. Similar conditions for years but getting worse. EGR now removed and capped. Only VAC advance and choke lines attached. All others capped off. According to local UAP Auto, I can't buy a new carb kit, just float. I'm thinking that when the engine warms up it's getting too much fuel and floods out. How many turns on the idle mixture screws (currently 1-1/4 out from seat) and where else do you recommend I look? Timing is likely okay but I'll check again. Electronic distributor.
