Over the years I've made one of these like 20 times... You never have one when you need one especially when away from home helping a buddy..
Find a 8-10' long piece of 3/8 od (other sizes can work) metal tubing (steel preferably). Straighten it as close as possible and flatten one end about 5/8 long in a vice or with a hammer. Don't crush it all of the way down but enough so it will slide into the pump end but not to loosely. Stick the round end into the drill motor and prime away. It helps to tweak it straight while spinning the drill.
For alignment slide a 3/8 drive socket over the tube from the round end. Select one that will fit over the pump shaft. Electrical tape above the socket will keep it from riding up...
