Help Pick a Transfer Case - 64 scout

Not a new question, but after all I can sponge up, not sure which t-case is best for my situation. Got a 64 Scout, and planning to use all modern GM drivetain. I'll be purchasing the IH SOA kit in the near future, cause I like the way the scount on extreme 4x4 looked, and so does my wife. This is my wifes truck, so I'm attempting to modernize it and keep ease of use in mind (think no manual trans). This will be a mostly street driven, and May see the occasional off road blast. In any case, I'll be using a 700r4 trans and a passenger side drop front axle. I would like to manually actuate the tcase hi- lo function. So which t-case should I be looking at? There are many yards around here and options to pick from. I don't think I need that $3500 atlas II they used on tv. Thanks for the help! Chris

What about an NP205 or a Dana 300 transfer case. Both are fairly stout units. And both have plenty of support and upgrade options. The NP205 can be adapted and mated to an np203, turning it to a doubler adding an even lower low range. And the Dana 300 has a complete gear change to the 4.0:1 low range.

Just more food for thought

btw - welcome
