Help! never removed radiator

Have my 78 traveller in garage ready to replace rad, maybe water pump, fan clutch and what ever else I can think of, but.... Never replaced a radiator on a Scout/traveller.

Can anyone give me some quick tips on where to start, I was looking at fan shroud, but fan in the way, do I need to remove that to take shroud out then work my way to radiator? Thanks

If you take the shroud loose and move it over the fan (away from the rad) it will give you enough room to pull the rad up and out the there is easy access to the fan and water pump.
Drain it first:icon_wink:

On my Scout the hood doesn't go up far enough to get the rad out. At least with the stock hood prop. I use a stick to prop the hood all the way open.

Remove the shroud bolts

" " tranny cooler lines if auto

" " rad hoses

" " rad mounting screws and lift it out. It helps to have a friend on the other side.
