Heads for V8

I was recently at a junkyard looking for a 345 for a project and I pulled the valve cover off a few engines and they said 368 ???? What size engine is it ??? Thanks for any help rudi
 
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure lincoln made a 368" y-block with a 4.0" bore. Other than that, I've never heard of that designator before.
 
I have never seen that on any IH heads either it was stamped368 with a c under it ..the engine is in a IH loadstar 1600 there was a few other loadstars with the same code on there heads ...

Numbers / letters like those cast in the head probably mean nothing except casting numbers - maybe a date code.

If you found the IH part number cast in the head, someone with a complete parts book May be able to figure it out.
