What is the general opinion on this filter on a 1975 IH 200 4x4 with a 345?
There is some back and forth online over the "Truck" and "Light Line" filters, where the "Truck" filter is bigger, both in thread size and micron rating, and the LL is smaller in both, and this LF426 has the micron rating of the truck filter(generally, depending on manufacturer and brand) yet has the 3/4 threads and is a similar size to the truck filter.
If I recall, and have found, correctly, it also crosses to the Napa 1773, which we use on our Ford F and L series grain trucks. The Baldwin cross is BT251.
Is there any reason why the LL had a finer rating and smaller filter than the trucks and is there any harm in using this LF426/BT251/1773 on this 345 in a pickup?
Convenience wise, I like the length of this filter as it makes it very easy to change, due to the motor mount and forward facing filter situation on my pickup.
This is the filter my pickup came with after the one oil change it got after it was rebuilt and then parked for 20 years, which is why I ask.
