Has anyone removed a rear leaf in their R/C kit?

Was thinking about removing the last(bottom) leaf in my r/c 4" rear leaf springs to maybe soften it up somewhat, has anyone tried this? I've removed overloads before and could definetly feel a difference in my Skyjacker rears on my ramcharger. I know these are not overloads but was wondering if anyone has had success doing this? Thanks-

I haven't don that, but I've got rancho springs on my Scout that are really stiff and am thinking about removing a leaf in the front. The front sits a little higher than the rear too. My concern is that with a leaf removed stress points May be created that will cause a broken spring.

I know on my dodge 2500 I replaced the bottom 2 with a 3 leaf "mini pack" to soften it up while still keeping it well supported. I guess I'll just install the rears how they came and see how stiff it really is... A mini pack might be do-able for your front if you have a spring company around.

In the customizing world removing a leaf is a common practice. Only thing to remember is never take two adjacent leafs and never remove the longest one that lays on the main leaf unless it is a full length leaf.

Don't know how much of a differance it will make. Could try and see. Easy enough to change out another if not happy.

Thanks, I ended up putting a set of fox 2.0 shocks I had for my dodge on and it rides great as is. It's actually good to have them all pretty firm without a swaybar on the truck.
