Hardtop Rust Issue

I attached some pics of my origianl hardtop and want to know if can be saved. I assume it is some sort of metal (since the Scout is nothing but metal) and therefore can be fabricated but I am not sure if it is worth the price tag to get it back. Thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Also the last two pics are just below the windshield and it is eatin all the way to some screws. There is obvious rust so what is the best way to deal with this issue. I have yet to remove the carpet and see what fun is under there.

Here in California we wouldn't bother fixing that as that is simply too much rust. Looks like you need a new to you good used hard top and windshield frame. Call if you need pricing and availability.

That's pretty Scout rust u have there I just finished my wife's daily driver her top was rusty in small spots the repairs took a few weeks and some dollars once u take the top of and windows out its pritty flimsy . My panalbeater ( body shop) uses only zink plated plate for rust repairs and we found the rust in the bottom curves a bit of a job u need plenty of room and a jig to hold the sides in position it's a big job and yours is prity rusty . I was lucky my wife's 79s2 roof wasn't toobad . The windscreen seround was in fair condition but I replased it with a fiberglass aftermarket one , since then teremaking them with a s/steel rollbar in the frame and here we don't have meny Scout 2s(100" travel tops) for roof doners . My other option for roof replacement is to cutdown a travller fiberglass top ,rplase tailgate with liftgate and replace doorwindows witch was done by phill coonrod on his wife's truck a few years ago . But the cheapest option for roof replacement that I would look into is a full rollcage with a soft top u have more options in u s than us downunder . But if your windscreen surround is showing that mutch rust holes I'd be checking the bottom of the gards(fenders) ,door pillars and sills it looks like one of those " original condition " scouts I have repaird several and still have them they took lots of time n money I'm lucky I use them for work and all parts n repairs are tax deductible , they make good work truks and still turn heads. Good luck with your truck.
