To think that the oldest IH light duty vehicle dealer in the u.s. Is still operating in portland, or is nothing short of amazing!
And ron rawls, ernie's head wrench and lot boy has been with him since 1954 iirc!
And they both celebrated "ernie and ron day" at the bee with us on Saturday!
Some of you May not be aware...ernie turned 90 in February. Shortly thereafter he suffered a mild (if mild is tha proper term) stroke and underwent bypass surgery also. He's doing great but had to use his cub cadet for a golf cart this weekend due to the heat. High point of my weekend was comparing scars with ernie along with many other visitors!
Ron has continued to open bisio motors every day while ernie has been out of commission. But they will be entering a new era late this summer, so anyone who has never visited bisio motors on n.e, sandy blvd. In portland, or better get up there soon to see a virtual IH museum-shop that still produces repair work and maintenance every day!
Call ahead to make sure ron is there (and maybe ernie), once the day's work is completed ron goes home. Landline is 503.232.6113. Let it ring a long time, sometimes ron takes a nap on his creeper underneath whatever kinda junkiron he's working on.
