Hello everyone. First post here. I am working on a 72 loadstar with a 392. I pulled the carb off for a simple clean and reseal. Lots of the fasteners and fittings were lose on the carb.
I have 2 questions. One big one being the governor on the carb. When I put the spring on in the governor housing it pulls the primary throttle plates wide open. This has me thinking something is wrong. A local guy said to install a spring to hold it closed but that just doesnt seem right to me.
Next question is should the metering plate with the idle mixture screws be on the primary/ choke horn side of the carb? Or is that just how governed carbs are setup? I have not seen them like this before.
Anyways. Thanks for any help. I did try my best at searching but turned up little usefull info.
