The time has come to replace my rusted-leaking fuel tank! Ive dug around on here and other forums and can't seem to find much info but remember a thread about a troublesome cross-member. Any suggestion before I get started on this p.I.t.a. Project!?

It is much easier than made out to be, especially with the stock size tank. Lube up your strap bolts before and have some new fuel hose and clamps and it's a one hour deal.
here's a writeup I did on the binder bulletin which May help. It's really pretty easy. My advice: test your fuel sender before you jack your tank back up and bolt it into place, and make sure your fuel line doesn't get pinched or kinked when it's going back up. Good luck!
Thanks for all the help, when the weather breaks in northern new england I will get this project put to sleep!
Any ideas on where to mount an inline fuel pump? Id like to use an electric pump and do away with the mechanical one.
