The time has come to replace my rusted-leaking fuel tank! Ive dug around on here and other forums and can't seem to find much info but remember a thread about a troublesome cross-member. Any suggestion before I get started on this p.I.t.a. Project!?

It is much easier than made out to be, especially with the stock size tank. Lube up your strap bolts before and have some new fuel hose and clamps and it's a one hour deal.

That and get the tank as empty as possible.

We never reuse the j bolts. They are generally rusted and not worth saving. Quicker just to cut them and order new ones with the new tank.

Thanks for all the help, when the weather breaks in northern new england I will get this project put to sleep!
Any ideas on where to mount an inline fuel pump? Id like to use an electric pump and do away with the mechanical one.
Griffon, im originally from delaware and get back a few times a year for some family time, we should hook up when im down!
