I have now got all the gauges and wiring problems solved and I am getting the wrong readings at the gauge. I have the new sending unit (#sl402522c2) mounted to a bucket and directly wired to the truck (1976 SSII). The gauge in dash swings to past full with float all the way at top of range and 1/4 tank hanging at the bottom of range. Just talked with Jeff and he suggested I post this on forum for help. The old sender was being replace partly due to float sinking (had crack) & the fuel feed tube soilder had cracked, plus tank was leaking de to o'ring folding over. When I bench tested the senders against each other I got different readings? New sender with arm/float at top of range or full-11ohms, at bottom of range or empty-83 to 88 ohms. Old sender same test up or full about 0 to 7ohms, at bottom or empty-93ohms. Is there a possiblity that the new sender is not working correct?
