Fuel Cell for dummies

Dont know much about fuel systems. Put gas in tank, pump pumps the gas into motor. Thats about all I know. :icon_eek:

I have a 16 gal fuel cell going into my 800a. The cell has a return line, vent line, and pump line. Past injected motors I have had the pump and return lines run from the tank to the fuel filter since the fuel pump was in the tank. Not so here. I'm running a electric fuel pump mounted to the rear frame.

Do I run the pump line from the tank to the in line fuel pump and cap the return line off? Thoughts?

Probably over thinking this and its causing my head to spin. :cryin:

This is a relatively simple plumbing scheme if you are going to run only the single tank.

The vent fitting should be connected to a gasoline-rated vent hose and run through the frame to a safe point for the flammable vapor to vent into. This vent provides the vent location for the tank and for when the tank is being filled with fuel.

The return fitting should be simply capped with a a fuel-safe plug of some sort, unless you are going to run fuel injection and then you will use that fitting for the fuel return from the engine system.

The supply fitting must be connected to the fuel pump inlet using suitable fuel-safe material such as a steel fuel hose. Put a disposable filter between the tank and the fuel pump and another disposable filter just in front of the carb inlet.
