Hi

where can I find the rubber seal/guide which goes in the metalframe in the front door, rubber window guide to assist ease of motion for the driver & passenger roll-up windows.

Like these But for the 1976 scoutii.

Tried all known vendors but couldn't find what I was looking for.

A couple suggestions... No hard knowledge.

There is steele which makes a lot of weatherstrips for the collector car world...

www.steelerubber.com - automotive rubber parts and weatherstripping for restoration cars, trucks and street rods.

You could look at various products (per vehicle) to see if something matches...

Another place to look is the various companies that supply the collector car market....

I would try late 60's / 70's GM car parts suppliers.

I could meaure the "track" on my 65 corvair to see if the dimensions are close to the Scout II.

For an example, here is a side view of that w/strip for my 65 corvair. The "base" is 1/2 in wide.

I do not know how close this is to a Scout II -- my 73 t/a is quite different...

Btw, the collector car suppliers probably buy their w/strips from steele / etc

Something else for you to look at

here is a link to another company that supplies weatherstrip to the restoration / street rod crowd.

http://www.restorationspecialties.com/2009 catalog ebook/2009 catalog ebook.pdf

The catalog shows cross sections of various vent channel strips -- with measurements -- like the picture of the corvair strip above.

Oops, the url goes to the catalog header -- scroll down the "bookmarks" on the left - there are two pages for unbeaded rubber channel w/ flocking. There are also pages with channel with a stainlesless steel bead...

Good luck

binder books Lists "door glass window felts for Scout II models 1971-80. Sold in pairs" for $34.95. The picture does not come up, but the description sounds right.

Hmm, did not know that binder books offered IH parts...

The door glass window felts mentioned above appear to be the "horizontal" ones that fit in the "top" of the door.

Not, the "vertical" ones that fit the "back" of the vent window (and the "vertical" window track in the door).

Someone needs to check the IH part number (@ binder books) against a Scout parts book...

Good to know they are available for the Scout II owners who May want to replace them.
