Hey gang,

Im doing a frame off on my 77 SS. Im in the process of stripping the stuff from the body with intentions to lift it off the frame. I plan to remove the roof and windshield frame. This Scout was redone with a large amount of fiberglass in the 80's. I am able to weld bars in the door jamb to stabilize it from folding pressure...and ill be adding other internal skeleton parts to keep its shape....Im curious where you would recommend lifting it from. Where would the usual centring-balance point be on teh tub?

Appreciate any insight!

Can't believe you're even wasting your time on that.

You're time ahead finding a better tub to start with.

Mine from New Brunswick wasn't event that rotten. The frame however was beyond repairing.

There is a 1972 100" frame in Niagara that's been on FB market place if your frame is rotten too, judging by the tub it can't be much better.

Actually, the frame is in great shape! When they redid the body with fiberglass in the 80's they lined teh interior of the cab with fiberglass sheets and everything under it rotted....the Scout was inside a garage, for 20 something years, so just surface rust on the frame. Im in the dismantling phase...ill deal with the tub when the frame and danas are done, cleaned up.

That's wild. Good that the frame is solid. Least you can buy all the parts now from EJ Classics through IHPA

Are you planning doors or SSII inserts.

Rods (Scout Pluss) inserts aren't as high quality as the new guy making them on Facebook. I'm running a pair from Rod.

I have the ss inserts and fiberglass doors...It's an actual SS.
