I'll be showing up about midnight on the 8th at fordyce.
We will be leaving the trail head at 8 am on the 9th , period. If your rig is not ready you will be left.

The plan is to run the trail and come out at the committee crossing. I plan to be in dobbins by 6 ish pm.

The weather again this year looks to be good for northern, CA.
Soda springs is close to fordyce and accuweather shows.

Dobbins will be in the high 70's to low 80's

remember, the weather people make the stock market guys look good.

I'll plan for the worst and hope for the best weather. I been doing some maintenance stuff and since fordyce has some water crossings I want to make sure the motor stays running.
I don't have a u-boat.
I can turn off the fan, but the belts will still fling water. Thinking about a snorkel, nothing fancy just some duct tape and some dryer hose if its needed. Sealing the distributor cap. Not sure if a baggy and tape will be good enough. Need to find a store near by where I can get some of this, as it forms a waxy sealing surface. Just spray it over the cap and wires.

It' between 50 and 75.

Sweet!! It's under 150, thats way less than 300. I'm not so skeeerd anymore. it's less than last year too.

I've crossed when it was in the 400 ish range, way sketchy.
I've also been there where my rig started to float down stream, release was close to 500 and there was alot or snow run off. So I grabed reverse, ate lunch and went home.

So much for the water crossing being an issue, it's down to less than 20 cfs. Pirate4x4 report said the water was a trickle and a good time to figure out where the holes are when it's deep.

Pg&e said the water level will stay way down, since they completed there work on the dam.

Just an fyi for all of you who will be up here in the truckee area, this morning the nifty thermometer in my subaru said 19 degrees at 7:00am, and we had a great dusting of snow up over by sugar bowl, the temp by 3:30 was a crisp 45 degrees... It is said to warm up, but if you all need a warm cup of hot coffee or to defrost for a bit feel free to give me a call as I am local up here and my door is open. 530.582.0875/530.218.8849

ps if any of you end up needing a part/hardware store, truckee dose have napa and mt. Hardware by safeway is awesome...

I was thinking of driving up Thursday as that would get the drive out of the way, but 19 is a bit cold for sure. Might just drive up Friday morning.
