From what I remember from last year we ran from the entrance to committee crossing with the fsr group on Friday, so for our Thursday run we should probablly run from committee crossing to the end, then run it backwards to our camp. Not sure where that is or how we get there, but I guess thats why we have a map!!:ihih:

What do you mean run it backwards? From committee up to meadow lake and back again. Then to dobbins to camp at the Scout ralleye? Then come back in the morning to run the first half?

Yeah thats what our reservations say, but me might just stay two nights at fourdyce so we can just meet everyone at the trail head to run the first half on Friday.

Does that make any sense?

Gotcha. I thought you guys were not going to camp at fordyce? I will plan to camp thurs night at fordyce, and end up at home Friday sometime.

Sat im going to the ralleye with the whole fam.

Hey, does anyone know if they still do a stop at the border for a fruit check? I don't want to bring a bunch of food they are gonna make me throw out. And is it fruit and veggies, or just fruit? Also, we were going to bring firewood for camp. Would there be any weird rules about bringing wood into cali since it could have bugs?

Yes on the fruit check. If the fruit is bought at the store you should be ok. Bannnas come from out of county any way.
If there was any fruit to avoid it would be apples as they are looking for back yard fruit. But I've just pointing out the store lables and they were fine with that. Never had them ask about fire wood. But since your not coming from ohio I think it would be fine. They are looking for gypys moths.

Edit... If they take your wood. Post up and bring some up to the ralley. On the trail just drive 1/3 mile from camp and grab some. I try and remember to just bring some extra wood for those who want some. .

When they ask you if you have any fruit you just say no. It's real easy. :dita:

They do, on occasion inspect vehicles and confiscate the "contraband" items. That usually happens when they need to restock the employee lunch room, or one of the wifes say pick up some ______ at the store on your way home.:ciappa:

Yep we were searched one time. They took oranges. I swear the guy was pealing them before we pulled out of the station. :d

They are just disposing of them in the proper order per the manual. First open orange and then eat. :yikes:

I've been through there like a million times and never been searched. Must have been that mj look you were sporting:idea:

That would have done it. :yikes: however I wasn't sporting that look back in 79. We were going through on our way to az to sell Christmas trees. They searched the travel trailer that we were towing. I have never been searched in a car or a truck pulling a Scout. Not even in a fire truck....:ciappa:

No sweat terry. If we are not here just make yourself at home as we are supposed to take a load of things up to lake francis in the afternoon. With any luck it shouldn't take us more than 3 hours round trip. Also with any luck I will be over this dam flu and actually have the energy to drive up there.

So can we figure out whats going on which days? Im having to take a day off work, and plan babysitting, so I need to figure this out.

Who is going, on what days, and what are the trail plans?

Well just us as far as I know. Would still like to hit a (any ) trail Thursday. Tell us when and where to meet ya.
Still plan on the Friday ride with the group

It doesnt sound like anyone from the group is going to fordyce on Friday. At least none that I am aware of. I would like to do Friday for sure, and am available to do thurs. Afternoon
