Exhaust Manifold flange bolt/springs

Hey guys,

boy, after 2.5 years, my basket case s2 is running. The problem now is that it is really loud(I.e. No exhaust yet). My 74 s2 with a 345 came to me in many, many pieces, and had some crazy headers on it which I replaced with stock manifolds.

My question:
is it correct that the manifold exhaust flange holes aren't threaded? Mine are smooth. So what the heck do the flange bolts look like?

Thanks guys,
drew

Like a bolt...head on one end...threads on the bottom....nut spins up on it.

I May be confused. I May not have read the question right. But if you're talking about the manifold bolts that drop in from the top and keep the flange tight thats all there is to it...boring I know

Your head has threaded holes in the mounting flange. If you are inferring that the head holes are thread less you need to install threaded inserts to repair the head holes.

If I read you wrong please correct me.
