Ever add a pcv valve on a 152

A PCV was standard in CA and some other US regions around 1963 and on. The attached photos illustrate the typical factory installation on a ( my ) 65 Scout 80.

Shows the PCV valve on one leg of a tee along with the vacuum for the wiper vacuum pump. the tee is on the vacuum port of the intake manifold. the other side of the PCV valve is connected via a short hose to the draft tube location of the tappet cover. The draft tube port will need the special plate with threads to attach a bung for the hose. Probably available from a salvaged 152 that IHPA may have laying around.

I assume you have the early filler tube where the cap looks like this one?

The filler tube has two J shaped slots at the top and a flange below the cap when installed.

The normal quarter turn cap won't be plug and play.

If you could verify what you have with photos it would be helpful in pointing you in the correct direction.

Yes that is the one I have . It fits vey loose . I was just about to run about and take when I saw your post . Any suggestions on sealing this type

Measure the OD of the filler tube. From there you can decide what push in cap will work. Post the dimension and I can look.

I went out and took some measurements from a Ford FE I just happen to have sitting in my garage. I added a fully BAR certified PCV system on it to pass the SPCNS SB-100 regulations. The oil fill tube was
1-3/8 and takes this cap. The push on engagement is 1.087. That should be enough to cover the J slots. If it causes any problems you could trim the top of the tube and remove the J slots. The cap nipple port then goes in to the air cleaner on the carb side of the filter element.

Here it the part I used, and a couple of photos of the non IH engine.

Ok so no need for a pcv valve hooked to vacuum then ? Just the breather vent to the inside of the air cleaner ... works for me !
Thanks for the help ... just gotta get a Weber 2 bbl kit , a 3.0ohm pertronix coil and re wire the dash and this old girl should be on the road

The pcv valve is the major part of the system. The filler cap and the vent to the air cleaner closes the system. You need both to install an effective pcv valve system.
